One Week 'Til Spring, by Spider                                                                                                                                                            Thu, 14th March, 2013

Woke up this morning to snow. Guess Old Man Winter doesn't want to let go. But there is hope - yesterday I saw two robins, the first of the year! Plus I know for a fact that some of the birds in the lumberyard are already getting their nests ready for babies.

Birds aren't the only ones - there are signs that people are anxious for spring, too. Customers are already buying potting soil and seeds and rakes and lawn decorations and so on. Spring is also a great time to paint, as the weather gets warmer. Which reminds me that I have to mention that Free Paint Saturday is this weekend. Get a free quart of paint and start your spring projects off on the right foot at Ace, the helpful place, and blah blah blah.

Using a cat for advertising is just shameless, isn't it?

Who needs girls? (by Spider)                                                                                                                                                                  Thu, 7th March, 2013

Spider here. Smoky and Spooky said I HAVE to write something on the blog. I don't know what to say, though. I read what they wrote in their posts, but it wasn't very helpful. I think they just sound crazy. Which is fine, I guess, since they ARE crazy. They're females - what do you expect?

They said I should write about what's going on in my life, or what's going on at Standish-Jones. (To me, a blog seems like a diary and DIARIES ARE FOR GIRLS!) So.... Nothing's going on. Just another boring Thursday. The truck came. Someone's ripping around in the forklift. Order day is pretty noisy, I guess.

The sky is cloudy and gray. Looks like winter's going to hang on for a while. Which is so sad. I'm really looking forward to laying on the porch in the nice, warm sunshine. Come on spring!

I just remembered that since it's Thursday, Olivia will be here tonight. She's one of my favorite people, because she brings me food and lets me sleep on her fuzzy coat. I hope she brings some Tim Hortons tonight. At least I'll have that to look forward to.

And that's all I have to say. Spider out.

Our Second First Post, lol, by Smoky                                                                                                                                                     Tue, 5th March, 2013

Okay, so maybe Spooky doesn't know how to have fun, but I do. All you really need for a good time is a rubber band or crumpled paper ball. And somewhere to hide and act innocent if a human catches you actually playing. :)

I for one am happy to write a blog for the company. We're lucky that we have such an awesome place to live, somewhere out of the wind and rain, with humans to give us treats and let us sleep on their laps or on their keyboards. We should be more grateful! I think Spooky forgets that; she's a little spoiled. ;)

The life of a cat is great. The life of a Standish-Jones cat is especially great. And if that's what the public wants to read about on our blog, then that's what they'll get! Check back often for what's new at Standish-Jones, and what's old in the life of the Standish-Jones cats!

Our First Post, by Spooky                                                                                                                                                         Mon, 4th March, 2013

It was recently decided that Standish-Jones should have a blog on its webpage. The company bigwigs really wanted to do something unique and fun, though, so they naturally chose us, the resident cats, to write said blog. And while I'll admit that we are unique and we certainly have a lot to say, I wouldn't go so far as to say we are FUN. I mean, we're cats.

But I'll try.

This is our first blog entry! Woo-hoo! Break out the party hats and balloons! Isn't this fun?!

Ugh. That's really all the excitement I can handle. Now I need a nap.
